Getting to know Julie

Julie began her riding career at Deer Park Morgans, in Willmar, Minnesota. It was at Deer Park where she developed her passion for all aspects of the horse industry. She was fortunate to grow up working for the Morgan horse facility along with a local equine specialty vet clinic. It didn't take long to realize the horse industry would be an integral part of Julie's life.

After high school Julie attended William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. During this time she spent the show seasons interning for Lynn and Kathleen Peeples of Waterford Farm, in Oxford, New Jersey. Julie graduated in 2005 with a degree in Equestrian Science and a minor in Business Administration. After college Julie managed the lesson program at Peeper Ranch, in Lenexa, Kansas until 2012. Julie has worked for and learned from the best in the industry!

Wanting to venture into the Saddlebred breed, Julie joined the team at R&R Stables in 2012 as their riding instructor. She brought along years of succesful training and instructing methods. R&R Stables now proudly boasts the most complete lesson program in the Kansas City area. At R&R Stables Julie and Rachalle offer many opportunities for pleasure and show riders.

In late 2012 Julie partnered with a publishing company to form a monthly national children's publication, Horse & Academy Magazine. As Julie's brainchild, this publication was committed to growing the horse industry one aspiring equestrian at a time. The goal was for the magazine to land in the hands of children who "liked" horses and turn that into a life long passion.

As the founder of Horse & Academy Magazine, Julie renewed her interest in graphic design. In 2014, she completed the Graphic Design program at the Kansas City Art Institute. Julie continued her education to receive her Masters of Equestrian Education from William Woods University in May of 2016.

We welcome the opportunity for new riders to take a lesson with Julie and see what you think!
